I feel like they packed the MV heavily with metaphors this time: It’s clear that they’ve all lost something in this MV. Young K dropping the ring and trying to retrieve it seems to symbolize losing a relationship, and how you can hurt yourself trying to reach for a relationship that’s already far away in the past. Wonpil’s one is a little more vague, but the picture in the beginning seems to mean that he’s lost his bonds with his family. I’m not sure what the cage is meant to symbolize, but he literally tears down the entire apartment for it, only to find it was right in front of him all this time when he turned around. (Edit: it seems as though the cage is an empty bird cage. Birds flying out of their nest for the first time is often used as a metaphor for saying that someone has moved out of their parents’ place) Dowoon losing his dog is quite clearly a metaphor for him losing his self, as Dowoon’s Denimalz animal is a dog. He tries to ask people for help and they ignore him, and he ends up stranded in a crowd, yet feeling alone, like one does when they felt as if they’ve lost themselves

DAY6 is one of the most creative, authentic and talented groups out there... they deserve so much more!! I'm saying this from a perspective of someone who doesn't actively follow them through social media (though I know they're pretty cool people), but I listen to their songs every single day. it never ceases to amaze me how they're able to create such original and interesting compositions... I'm truly thankful that they allow themselves to experiment, avoiding the cliche. and the live performances? they're flawless, full of life and musicality. I truly hope the members receive the love and recognition they deserve. musically speaking, I admire and respect this group more than any other.

The boys explained the stories in their showcase (+ some additional points from my observations) -Young K: his s/o broke up with him in the middle of his work place, he couldn't give any reaction because there are customers (+ notice how he was numb but started crying the moment he got a small scratch on his hand? This is supposed to represent the message behind the song "the things that break us and make us explode may be very small and insignificant but it's a result of piled up emotions") Wonpil: a kid that has trauma (I guess caused by his parents because of the family picture) the room he is in triggers his trauma but he was afraid to face it. He got sick of living like this and decided to destroy everything in the room in order to set himself free from all the bad memories (the empty cage could represent his locked soul, that's why he cried when he looked at it?) Dowoon: the dog represents his ego, he got distracted by life that he forgot to take care of himself that's why he lost his ego. He finally wakes up and realizes the greatest lose is when you lose yourself

You don't need to have a boyfriend or girlfriend, if you want to feel heartbreak, just listen to the song Day6, you will feel heartbroken without a lover, fix no debat

Window, meet Young K.

I think maybe the reason why Young K and Wonpil are the ones who cry their eyes out in this MV is because they get hurt from other people. It's like they can cry and let go of other people and be okay. Meanwhile, Dowoon lost himself, so it is a fight against himself that he needs nobody to hear his cry except himself. I think Dowoon's story in this MV is also as deep and heartbroken as Young K's and Wonpil's. If a person feels lost about himself, he doesn't really feel like crying but more like empty feeling. In the middle of so many people passing by, Dowoon feels like he is alone and empty. That's so sad

What's right through me is the scene when Wonpil looks like he's having severe panic attack. He's definitely looking frantic, lost, helpless, and broken. Seeing how he indiscriminately tears down everything he sees... Panic attack does not always make you that destructive, but when it does, it's all dark inside. As someone who has gone through frequent panic attacks, I can see myself in him. Also, both the shiba and the Dowoon dog have no right to be so cute together.

The way DAY6 is singing, acting and portraying my life is everything. How perfectly accurate that YoungK lost his love for a thing he is so passionate about just like how I lost myself while trying to save my last straw of love for music. How Wonpil was having breakdown, in an empty room, holding an empty cage, everything crashing down exactly how I experienced while I am trying to battle out my inner demons. How Dowoon lost his dog (his persona) exactly how I lost myself and was never able to regain it back and how I desperately asked for it to be back but I gave up and despised my past self and actions, how careless and immature I was that I want to jump out of the glass to get rid of those shits. it's perfect you guys were able to show what most people's life are just about. Losing and being lost. Props to the music, perfect that I am listening to it now while raining, I wanna cry brb

I think this is like stages of being broken. YoungK is the 1st stage, the breaking up, not yet accepting the face that it ended, trying to save everything’s that was left behind. Next is Wonpil, still trying to deny the fact that it actually ended. However in this phase, he’s already trying to destroy everything, all that reminds him of the lost love. But, he still breaks down every single time. Dowoon is the last phase. He actually lost himself. He lost everything because of that love. He’s now trying to find the path back to his own life but he’s having a hard time. In the end, we can see his determined expression, I think he’s finally ready to move on. It’s just an assumption hahahaha. Hope you enjoyed reading this.
